IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION ON THE ENVIRONMENT: A REVIEW

Abstract

The paper examined the impacts of globalization on the environment. Globalization is a complex system, involving a large number of integrated components operating to­gether and characterized by constant changes. With globalization, pressures to the environment have increased and all dimensions of globalization adversely affect the natural environment. The paper reviewed the concept of globalization and its impacts on the environment. The paper was concluded and it was recommended among others that there is need for media to enlighten people about the environmental problems. That is, local environmental problems can be addressed by local television channels and newspapers. Thus people’s attention can be drawn to environmental problems.
